Math 9-12 further information

The  Koç High School Mathematics Department encourages students to;

 

  • construct their own knowledge through discovery and experimentation.
  • focus on the process rather than the procedures/calculations in problem solving.
  • achieve relational/ conceptual understanding that is developed in algebraic /numerical, visual/graphical and symbolic aspects.
  • be flexible thinkers to cope with different conditions provided in a task.
  • improve their spatial abilities.

 

 

IB SL math and IB HL math courses (Grades 11 and 12) as well as  regular  courses (National Curriculum) are both offered at the Koç high school.

 

Teacher candidates are expected to;

 

  • have a superior command of Mathematics and English.
  • have the ability and knowledge to use a variety of teaching and assessing approaches in the classroom.
  • be  team-oriented.
  • enhance students’ learning by effective and thoughtful use of technology.

Grade 9 Mathematics: (National Curriculum)

We have four periods per week allocated for this course. The topics are as follows:

 

Boolean Calculus (Logic)

Set Theory Relations

Functions and Binary Operations

Number systems

Grade 9 Geometry:

 

We have two periods per week allocated for this course. The topics are as follows:
