The nature of the post

 

The successful candidate will undertake a dual role. The post involves some teaching (approximately one third of a full timetable) in the Lise (High School). The exact nature and distribution of that teaching load will depend both on the experience of the candidate and departmental need. The remaining time (approximately two thirds) involves working as the Educational Technologist for the Koç School EduTec Project. This whole-school project was established in 2009 under the coordination of the Head of IT (Academic) in order to develop further the educational use of IT across the curriculum, both in the classroom and online.

Essential Attributes

• Appropriate IT teaching experience and qualifications.
• A genuine interest in how students learn as well as what they learn.
• Enthusiasm for the contribution IT can make in facilitating and enhancing that learning.
• The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues who may have varying confidence and experience in the educational use of IT.
• The capacity to be proactive and organized while maintaining a flexible approach.

 

Highly Desirable Attributes

• Experience in educational content creation both for interactive whiteboards and virtual learning environments (Moodle).
