Spanish teacher advertisement

One Spanish teacher for either a full-time middle school position of years 6 to 8, or a full-time high school position of Lise Preparatory and year 9. In the middle school, students study their foreign language for 3 lessons of 40 minutes per week. In the high school, students will have 2 lessons of 40 minutes per week. Spanish students’ levels will range from A1 to A2, with respects to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
In the middle school, the curriculum in year 6 and 7 is introductory with the aim that students attain a confident A1 level, if not an A2 by the end of their year 8. The Spanish books “Chicos, chicas 1, 2, 3” (Edelsa) are used to help students practice the four language skills, namely reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
In the high school, this will be the first year for Spanish. Lise Preparatory and year 9 students will be coming from our middle school as well as from others in Turkey. An innovative, independent teacher is sought as the high school Spanish programme will need to be created one year at a time.
We use a communicative approach in our language lessons with the teacher using Spanish nearly 100% of the time, in and out of the classroom. All Spanish, French and German teachers work closely together in a shared office environment in both schools, creating similar worksheets, quizzes, exams, etc. in their own target language.
Candidates should state their preference for the middle school or high school position.
